UTC Mocs Athletic Alumni Web Site

Welcome to the first-ever Moc Athletic Alumni contact website!

The primary purpose of the website is to find all of our former Mocs Athletic Alumni,  staff, supporters of UT- chattanooga sports,  and reunite them with each other.   It is a great tool for organizing and networking all who have shared that common bond of being a part  of making UC and UTC athletic history.

Moc Athletic Alumni, we need your support to make the contact management website a success.  Notice the website isn't just for Athlete Alumni; it’s for all sports, and associated organizations that have supported the UTC athletic department --(Athletes, Coaches, AD Staff, Sport medicine, Sport Medical Staff, Trainers, Cheerleading, Equipment Manager, Chattanooga Spirit, Flag Core, UTC Marching Band, UTC Mocs Club, Moc Maniacs, and Associated Media  Members), 

Here is how to get started. First, click Join Now and complete the registration form.  Within a few short minutes, you will receive an automated e-mail with a confirmation link that you will need to click.  After you click the link, you’ll be taken back to the site where you can complete your profile and have full access to the site.  For protection against spammers, portions of the website will be seen only by registered members.   
 
The next thing to do is help to spread the word.  Send  messages everyone, and tell them to go to the website and set up their profile ASAP.  Third, find a friend whom you haven’t spoken to in years and share a memory.

Dedication

"Over the years I have thought about the saying, "When God closes one door, He opens another."  Difficult as my old friends find it to believe, I often think how fortunate I have been in my life to have ended the last 30 working years with young men In whose lives I felt that I made a difference.  I truly believe that education makes a difference in our lives -- not just in making money, but in knowing and understanding life and the world around us.  When one teaches English, one teaches subject material!  I was lucky enough to get to do more."

This website is dedicated to Mrs. Mary Tinkler.  Mary was the Academic Advisor to the UTC athletes from 1969 until 1998.  To many of us, she was more than an academic advisor.  She was our second mother, caring friend, and the one who kept us on the straight and narrow path to graduation.  Many of us owe our degrees, careers, and successes in life to Mary's dedication to UTC Athletics.

Mary has made it her personal project to keep up with the names, addresses, and e-mails of former Mocs.  Still to this day, when Mary sees someone that she hasn't seen in a long time, she grabs a pen and takes down their contact information.   It is from Mary’s personal address book that we have found many of our old friends, networked with each other, and developed this website. Thank you, Mary, for all that you have done for all of us!

The Once-A-Moc  website will serve to pick up the mantle that Mary has held so tightly, and to carry on the endless task of keeping track of the many Moc Alumni who are scattered throughout the nation, and the world.

Please join the many Moc Alumni who still stay in touch with Mary, in saying a word of thanks for her endless support and love for UTC Athletics.  You can even use this website to send Mary a personal e-mail, and let her know how you're doing. 

Mary and her husband John attend every home game.  If you happen to go, just look for the lady who is getting hugged by all the men!  That will be Mary and the former players.

Comment on the web site- how can we improve it?

The contact management list is one large database running in the background, that can be searched a number of ways -- sport, year, name, etc. Through this website, we hope to keep you in touch and informed of the goings-on with your specific sport, as well as the overall athletic department.  It will take a little time to further develop the website, so be patient with us.   We welcome your suggestions and comments on what you would like to see included on the site, and/or perhaps changed to look better or to meet a higher expectation.  We welcome your e-mails offering your comments and suggestions by contacting us.

Although, all Moc Club memebers are encouraged to sign up.  The Alumni contact site is not affiliated with, nor is it taking the place of any established clubs. It is a contact website for the Alumni to find each other.  We hope to use the site to combine all the contact lists from the many individual Alumni address books (starting with Mary Tinkler's) and all Alumni club directories, to create the most detailed and up-to-date Alumni contact  list ever established at UTC, and we want to make the information easily available to the Alumni on-line.
